I create handmade lampwork glass beads that capture both quiet moments and bold emotions, inspired by the beauty of everyday life.
I made my first glass bead in 2011 - and that small, glowing moment quietly changed the direction of my life.
Before glass, I had a degree in economics and a very “reasonable” career path. But once I discovered lampwork, reason stepped aside. Melted glass took over - first my hands, then my thoughts, and eventually my days.
Lampwork is not just what I do. It’s how I see the world. If I’m not melting glass at the torch, I’m doing it in my imagination. Inspiration finds me everywhere: in art museums and forest walks, in everyday cooking, in a passing expression on a face. Glass has a way of collecting these moments and turning them into something you can hold.
What began as a hobby slowly, stubbornly, and joyfully became my profession. Since 2015, I’ve been a full-time lampwork artist.
Today I live and work in Uruguay - a quiet, unexpected place to be a glass artist, and, as far as I know, I’m the only lampworker in the country. Once or twice a year, I travel to teach in person, sharing not just techniques, but the way I think about glass.
Teaching is close to my heart. I’ve created several tutorials, and my greatest pride is my book - a detailed guide to my signature technique of incorporating copper wire into lampwork beads. It’s the kind of book I once wished existed when I was learning.
Every bead I make carries curiosity, emotion, and lived life. They’re not perfect. Neither am I. But they are honest, carefully made, and meant to bring joy - whether you turn them into jewelry or simply enjoy them as small pieces of wearable art.
I’m very glad you’re here.
